How much does it cost?

Please note medical & surgical abortion procedure prices below. The increases take effect as from 21/05/2018.

Referral Service Fees - Pre Abortion Tests & Dr Visit (Abortion procedure fees are extra as below)

Less than 13 weeks pregnant  

  • Non – residents referral only - $225 (Charges include: Dr consult, basic laboratory test fees & AMAC dating scan) 
  • NZ residents & NZ healthcare eligible – NO CHARGE (subsidised fee by Auckland Medical Aid Centre Ltd)   13 – 17 weeks pregnant - referral to NZ O&G specialist service

13 weeks < 17 weeks pregnant 

  • NZ residents – $120 (includes standard laboratory tests & referral visit) please note: a full obstetric ultrasound and any extra lab fees may incurr extra charges.
  • Non - NZ residents - $400 (includes standard laboratory tests & referral visit) please note: a full obstetric ultrasound and any extra lab fees will incurr extra charges.

17 weeks pregnant or more -  referral to an overseas service

  • NZ residents – $120 (includes standard laboratory tests & referral visit) please note: a full obstetric ultrasound and any extra lab fees may incurr extra charges.
  • Non - NZ residents - $400 (includes standard laboratory tests & referral visit) please note: a full obstetric ultrasound and any extra lab fees will incurr extra charges.

FEES ABOVE INCLUDE REQUIRED MINIMUM TESTS FOR AMAC PATIENTS & LABORTORY CHARGES – NON STANDARD TESTS REQUIRED BY OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL INCURR EXTRA CHARGES

  • NZ residents - $1150 (subsidised fee by Auckland Medical Aid Centre Ltd)
  • Non-resident - $1300
